February 14, 2012 – Over the past month, KC Cafe Radio asked you to "Show Your Love" for your favorite KC Cafe Performing Artist, by requesting their music for airplay. Then on Valentine's Day, we played the music you voted as your favorite music on The Cafe.

KC Cafe House Concert: Sarah Peacock

We had a wonderful time enjoying the music of Sarah Peacock in our first House Concert of the 2012 season on January 15!

Our thanks go out to Artist Relations Director Kathleen Coleman and her husband Matt for hosting, Sarah, Megan and Gibson for traveling down from Nebraska just to do the show, and everyone who came out to enjoy the show.

It was certainly a fun evening for everyone involved. We have several more house concerts lined up for the 2012 season, so stay tuned to this space and to our Facebook page for more information.

KC Cafe Radio joins efforts to oppose onerous leglisation

January 19, 2012 – KC Cafe Radio today joins a host of other Internet broadcast providers, website services and countless individuals who have expressed concerns over the so-called "Protect IP Act" (PIPA) and "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA).

This dangerous legislation currently moving through Congress would give the government broad new powers to crack down on websites accused of trafficking in stolen content, without even giving them their day in court. This could have serious consequences for cloud computing, Internet security and services like KC Cafe Radio. More than 100 legal experts, in a letter to Congress, called the PROTECT IP Act “the equivalent of an Internet death penalty.” Stop the Internet killers – 968 and H.R. 3261 – and preserve a free global Internet.

December 20, 2011 – It has been another wonderful year for KC Cafe Radio! Hard to imagine that in a few short months, KC Cafe Radio will be only four years old. As of today's date, we boast a music rotation of over 2.500 songs from 361 unique artists. That's quite a feat, in our opinion, and we're proud of how this unique effort has grown over such a short period of time.

That development would not have been possible without the faith and trust instilled in us by the musicians who you hear and read about here. They are all excellent musicians and individuals, and we consider ourselves fortunate to have them playing on The Cafe.

More importantly we are grateful for you, dear listener and connoisseur of this music. We know that you have a lot of choices out there to discover new music, and we are honored that you have chosen The Cafe as your venue to that end. As we continue onward into a new year, we pledge to continue to work hard at bringing you The World's Finest Original Music.

As we all soon gather to spend time with family, we here at KC Cafe Radio take this opportunity to wish you and your's a happy holiday, and all the best in the new year.

The Love of Music Rages On!

AO Music is a pan-cultural music experience produced, composed and performed by Richard Gannaway, Jay Olivier and Miriam Stockley. Their newest album is …And Love Rages On! It has already received huge critical acclaim and Grammy consideration. The three creative members of AO Music have worked with a diverse group of artists such as Sheryl Crow, Celine Dion and Chaka Kahn. They have also composed music for the 2008 Olympics and have recorded two other CD's under the AO Music moniker.

Recently while Richard and Jay were working in the recording studio I had a the great pleasure of speaking with one of the creative voices in AO Music, the innovative, talented and music legend, Miriam Stockley. Miriam has had a long career in music beginning when she was 11 years old and performing with her sister in South Africa. Later her talents took her to the U.K. where she worked with Praise, Karl Jenkins and Katrina Leskanich of Katrina and the Waves. Her film credits include the Elfen music in Lord of the Rings and music for 1999's Great Expectations. She now makes her home in Orlando, Florida and joined AO Music in 2006. Miriam's own "vocalese" overdubs fortifies AO Music's children's choral ensembles and her voice is the catalyst for AO Music's style.

KC Cafe House Concert: Sarah Pierce

We recently had the unique opportunity to hear Austin, TX based singer/songwriter and KC Cafe Radio Performing Artist Sarah Pierce perform live in a house concert hosted by Artist Relations Director Kathleen Coleman, and her husband Matt.

It was indeed a magical evening featuring the acoustic sounds of Sarah and her full band, including Mike Dorrien, Merel Bregante, Carl LoSchiavo, and Jane Gillman. Attendees were treated to music from Sarah's latest album, Bring It On, as well as from some of her previous albums.

Here, we present selections from the evening performance, in two parts. Part one starts with a conversation between Sarah and KC Cafe Radio Music Director Kathy Forste, followed by the first half of the evening performance. Part two concludes the performance in a "story" format.
